Renewable energy solution provider Suzlon on Wednesday said it has bagged a 300 MW wind energy project from Torrent Power. However, the company did not disclose the value of the order.

New Delhi: Renewable energy solution provider Suzlon on Wednesday said it has bagged a 300 MW wind energy project from Torrent Power. However, the company did not disclose the value of the order. "Suzlon Group has bagged a significantly large order for its new 3 MW series of wind turbines to develop a 300 MW wind power project for Torrent Power," a statement said. Suzlon will install 100 wind turbine generators with a hybrid lattice tubular tower and a rated capacity of 3 MW each. The project is located in Karnataka and expected to be commissioned in 2025. As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply the wind turbines, provide land and execute the project, including erection and commissioning. Suzlon will also provide comprehensive operations and maintenance services post commissioning. Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group, said, "Suzlon and Torrent have a long association of building several wind energy projects over the years. We are delighted to further strengthen this partnership with deployment of our most powerful turbine technology via the new 3 MW series."

Australia to establish Consulate in Bengaluru

Sydney: Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Wednesday announced that Australia will now open a new Consulate-General in Bengaluru this month, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India will open a consulate in Brisbane as part of the efforts of the two countries to enhance bilateral ties. In his media statement after holding talks with Prime Minister Modi here, Prime Minister Albanese said the opening of the new diplomatic mission in Bengaluru will help in connecting the country's businesses to India's booming digital and innovation ecosystem. The opening up of the Consulate-General in Bengaluru this month will be the fifth diplomatic mission in India. Others are in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. Meanwhile, India currently has three consulates in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Brisbane currently has an Honorary Consulate of India.

Hindalco Ind Q4 net falls 37% to Rs2,411cr

New Delhi: Hindalco Industries Ltd on Wednesday reported a 37 per cent fall in its consolidated net profit to Rs2,411 crore for the March quarter. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 3,860 crore during the January-March quarter of 2021-22, the company said in a regulatory filing. Total income of the company was Rs 56,209 crore in the quarter under review against Rs 56,057 crore in the year-ago quarter. The expenses were at Rs 53,372 crore, higher than Rs 51,026 crore a year ago. Aditya Birla Group company Hindalco Industries is the world's largest aluminium company by revenue, and a major player in copper serving more than half of India's copper requirement.

Hitachi Energy Q4 profit dips 1.68%

New Delhi: Hitachi Energy on Wednesday said its net profit dipped 1.68 per cent to Rs 50.81 crore in March quarter 2022-23. The company reported a net profit of Rs 51.68 crore for the year-ago period, according to a BSE filing. Total income rose to Rs 1,336.30 crore from Rs 1,142.13 crore in the same period a year ago. The company received an order worth Rs 1,262 crore in the fourth quarter, which was higher than Rs 1,043.6 crore in the year-ago period. As of March 31, 2023, the order backlog stood at Rs 7,071 crore, providing revenue visibility for the coming quarters, it stated.
